Kids in Madrid

Well, we've been here 6 months now. It's hard to believe. No more lovely green mountains in the distance. We are in the middle of 6 million people. The parks are strictly urban.

And the walk to the doctor's office takes us over 20 lanes of traffic.

And yet what is always so interesting about cities is how all the concrete, steel and glass remain so utterly human.

We miss Collserola, the Plaza del monasterio, the ice cream parlours along the main street, the quiet small streets with their shops and benches. Oh and we miss our swimming pool!

Good luck on your exams and have a lovely summer!

Hello from Madrid

Hi guys
It's been a long while and I know you don't check the blog hardly ever but, just in case, here is a note. I hope you continue using your blogs even though no one is giving you "una nota". It's fantastic for you to continue talking about things you like and find interesting IN ENGLISH. And you can always read what your classmates are saying and I will try to read what your write now and then, too.
Here is Madrid things are OK but I still miss Sant Cugat a lot. I hope you are all well.
Take care!
Melissa

Good luck on your exams!!

Here is something funny to make you laugh. Sorry it's not in English! German football fashions from the 1970s!

Let me know which outfit you like the best?
Or who is the most groovy dancer?
I think my favorite part is the audience's reaction.

Last Day Photos

Sorry for the wait! Here are the photos from the last day. I'll try to see if I can figure out how to add the videos too but I'm a bit braindead after this first week at the new school. The pictures came out a bit small so just click on them. Then you can see everyone's beautiful face up close!

Happy January

Hi guys

I'm sure that hardly anyone will have the time or inclination to take a look at this old blog but since today is a special day, I thought I'd make a post to you.

Why is it special? Well, it's snowing in Madrid. But not that sissy sort of snow that usually falls here. It's SNOWING in Madrid. The kids are thrilled and the cars are crashing and skidding all over the place. Pretty exciting stuff.

Anyway, I hope you are well in warm sunny Catalunya.

Take care and keep working hard on your English!!
Melissa
